Kiki the college girl" Modelling class (Fri, 8am-6pm) - SoFlo Cake & Candy Expo

Silvia Mancini will teach you how to create this original and cute cake topper.

The project is entirely handcrafted (no moulds will be used) by MODELING SUGAR PASTE using Silvia Mancini’s personal modeling techniques.

The figure measures 15 cm in height ( about 6"); the total height of the cake topper is 22 cm ( about 8,5")

Adorn your cakes with this amazing figurine and apply the techniques learned in class to model a variety of cute characters!

The course includes personalized and individual instruction for a limited number of no more than 12 students.

Techniques being taught:

• Correct use of various modeling tools;

• Technical construction of the half-bust figure;

• Putting the figure together and posing it;

• Study of light and color;

• Shading techniques: how to make the subject as realistic as possible ;

• Modeling face: create all face details and learn how to give the facial expression;

• Painting face: how to paint perfect eyes and mouth, make-up and shades.

• Adorne the figure: modelling clothes, hair and accessories out of modelling sugar paste.

Through the day's lesson, the students will learn the various techniques, become self-sufficient and will be able to independently model figures out of sugar paste.

Please note:

- the class will be taught using cake dummies

- it just focus on the creation of the figure and not of the complete cake.

( guidance will be given on how to make additional decorations)

Students will break for a 1-hour lunch 

• All class tickets are non-refundable once purchased.

• All classrooms are on the second floor of MACC.

• You will need a general admission ticket in order to register for classes, including classes hosted on Friday.

• The vendor hall will not be open on Friday, and is only open Saturday & Sunday.

• Classes will begin promptly at the time scheduled.

• Saturday and Sunday there will be a two two-hour break from 1:00-3:00 to allow time for lunch, shopping, raffle drawings and contest results.

• All class materials and tools are included for classroom use only, unless otherwise noted. Students will NOT keep any tools used in class. Each student will be provided with a box to take home your completed class project.

• No children or guests allowed in classrooms. Only registered students will be permitted inside the class area.
