Class Description

Home Sweet Home:

Home is where the heart is... and the cookie jar.

In this class we will be doing an extreme home makeover: from naked cookie to charming cottage, we will decorate inside and out using royal icing.

All supplies needed will be provided for use in class with several Arty McGoo brand tools (including a McGooGoo stick, a set of paintbrushes, and a nifty hinged palette) for you to keep. You will leave with 3 gorgeous cookies that will make you want to shrink yourself so you can live in them, a houseload of awesome techniques, and a new neighborhood of cookie friends.

Some of the main cookie skills we will explore:

painting

textures

piping

perspective

dimension

stenciling

transfers

airbrushing

There are a lot of intricate techniques and precision work in this class so a strong foundation of cookie skills to build on is suggested. I encourage you to push yourself as I will guide every step of the way as we build 3 architectural dreams complete with tiny royal icing details.

• Cookie sizes are: house 5"x7" and rooms 3"x 5 1/2")

• The skills and techniques used are intermediate - advanced.

Class FAQs

  • All class tickets are non-refundable once purchased.
  • All classrooms are on the second floor of MACC.
  • You will need a general admission ticket in order to register for classes, including classes hosted on Friday.
  • The vendor hall will not be open on Friday, and is only open Saturday & Sunday.
  • Classes will begin promptly at the time scheduled.
  • Saturday and Sunday there will be a two two-hour break from 1:00-3:00 to allow time for lunch, shopping, raffle drawings and contest results.
  • All class materials and tools are included for classroom use only, unless otherwise noted. Students will NOT keep any tools used in class. Each student will be provided with a box to take home your completed class project.
  • No children or guests allowed in classrooms. Only registered students will be permitted inside the class area.

In the event that the minimum student enrollment requirement is not reached by the specified deadline, the class will be cancelled. Affected students will promptly receive notification and will be provided with a  complete refund for the class/demo.
