Blooming Floral Cupcakes (Sun, 8am-4pm) - SoFlo Cake & Candy Expo

 Make an edible garden with buttercream flower cupcakes! We’ll start by reviewing the tools required to pipe flowers and create a custom range of beautiful colors. Next we’ll learn how to pipe a variety of signature flowers such as a rose, peony, hydrangea, ranunculus, daisy, zinnia and more. All the florals will be piped directly on the cupcakes to create large single, full-faced flowers. Finally, we’ll complete the designs by adding foliage to bring the flowers to life.

*Each student will be provided with 12 dummy cupcakes to decorate and take home. The recipe for buttercream will be shared.

Techniques:

- Create a natural and beautiful color palette

- Learn how to pipe different petal shapes, angles and layering styles

- Pipe full-faced buttercream flowers directly on the cupcake

- Create intricate centers with lots of texture and dimension

- Add various styles of leaves to complement the flowers

Schedule Note: Class will break for a mandatory lunch from 1pm-3pm. Class to start back at 3pm and finish at 4pm. 

 

• All class tickets are non-refundable once purchased.

• All classrooms are on the second floor of MACC.

• You will need a general admission ticket in order to register for classes, including classes hosted on Friday.

• The vendor hall will not be open on Friday, and is only open Saturday & Sunday.

• Classes will begin promptly at the time scheduled.

• Saturday and Sunday there will be a two two-hour break from 1:00-3:00 to allow time for lunch, shopping, raffle drawings and contest results.

• All class materials and tools are included for classroom use only, unless otherwise noted. Students will NOT keep any tools used in class. Each student will be provided with a box to take home your completed class project.

• No children or guests allowed in classrooms. Only registered students will be permitted inside the class area.

In the event that the minimum student enrollment requirement is not reached by the specified deadline, the class will be cancelled. Affected students will promptly receive notification and will be provided with a  complete refund for the class/demo.
